If you intend on running BCR Software on Windows 7 in the near future we would love to talk with you.  The BCR Software install is an easy process on Windows 7 that should take no longer than 15 minutes.

The Multi-Word search allows users to type search terms into the item search box and then returns all items that match the search criteria provided.  Lets say you wanted to search for all 18 volt drills in your inventory.  You could type “18V DRILL” into the search box and Multi-Word search will look for any items that have 18V and DRILL in their description fields.

Look for this functionality in the Rome release at the end of August.

Rather than invoicing orders individually, these users will have a command screen where they will be able to select as many or as few Orders as they choose to be invoiced.  The screen contains Hold All and Release All buttons to make changes to the entirety of the list. Keeping a common look and theme, RED records are on hold while BLACK records will be invoiced.

Be on the lookout for this feature and the rest of the Rome release late August.

Essentially the right side of the Launchpad will function similar to a web page that can take users to various links on our blog pages.This feature will be available starting with the Quebec 1.2 release which will be available this week.  Keep up to date with what’s going on with BCR Software.

Order Entry

• The functionality to change customer on a quote (tr. #98).
• The discount table in Admin. and OE has an additional column that calculates actual price (tr. #110).
• Document types and numbers show up on the subject line whenever you send e-mails to customers and vendors (tr. #606).
• An item’s minimum order quantity is now disregarded whenever you are making quotes (tr. #648).
• A warranty’s expiration date now shows up in the serial number inquiry grid (tr. #675).

Accounts Receivable

• Now you can add notes to invoices or credits (tr. #137).
• There is the ability to search for Invoice numbers on the Account Detail tab (tr # 599, 221).

Accounts Payable

• AP Clearing Reconciliation has an additional lookup (tr. # 159).
• Total balance now shows below total entered on the AP check preparation screen (tr. #171) .
• There is a invoice number field you can enter on instant checks (tr. # 621).

Administration

• Documents can be displayed in Serial number inquiry (tr. #613).
• In the edit item classes, there is a find box (tr. #616).
• Inventory Quick Add now updates the item’s vendor from the class defaults (tr. #617).

Inventory/Purchasing

• The “view” button on the Inventory Valuation Report and the Inventory Requirements Report has been disabled (tr.#663,664).
• In enter/edit purchase orders, the PO tab has been expanded to include some new fields (tr. #680).

Setup

1. Sign into the Live BCR database.
2. Go to the OE tab of system defaults in Administration
3. Check “Use Office Specific Numbers” checkbox.
4. Create a new Office Location by clicking on the
   button on the Switches tab in OE system defaults.
5. Set the new Office Location’s OE Document Prefix to be the office location plus a -. Ex: if the new Office Location’s number is 3, enter 3- in the OE Document Prefix.
6. (optional) The beginning document numbers can be entered for each type of document, and the Cost Center can be entered as well.
7. Connect the laptop to the network
8. Install BMA on the workstation.
9. Copy all of the database files to its C:\BMA\alias folder, where alias is the name of the live data folder.
10. Copy the Exe folder from the server to the C:\BMA\Exe folder
11. Create a shortcut called BMA Local to the C:\BMA\Exe folder and assign the shortcut to the C:\BMA\alias database.
12. Sign in to BMA Local and set the laptop user’s default office location to the new office location that was created in step 4 and lock that user in.
13. Begin entering orders in the BMA Local database on the laptop.

The Enhancements :

# 597 : Contact Management - Users may now see a list of all report group values for the customers in a specific group.

#614 : Order Entry - When selecting ‘CC’ (Credit Card) as the payment method on the Shipping/Payment tab, BCR Software will automatically fill in the ‘Payment Tendered’ field.

#234 : Contact Management - BCR Software now maintains the association that is made between groups and prospects, allowing users to more easily keep track of which prospects fall under which groups.

#425: - Inventory/Purchasing - We have added the ability to enter a foreign currency amount in the Inventory/Purchasing module that is calculated into the American dollar amount, based on the specified exchange rate.
